A Heavy Equipment Technician (HET), is a technician that specializes in the repair and maintenance of heavy vehicles, industrial equipment and commercial transport devices. HETs work in noisy, physically demanding environments and are required to lift and transport heavy parts in hard-to-reach areas. HETs often work full-time and sometimes even on weekends. Sometimes, the technical complexity and responsibilities of their jobs makes it beneficial to have a postsecondary education.

An electrical process engineer is a technical professional that designs and tests electrical equipment. His or her duties also include supervising the manufacturing process. This job requires a deep understanding of technology, design, mathematics, programming and electronics. A creative person must be able to keep up with the latest technologies. Additionally, he or she will need specialized skills such as drafting and design.
